Hello-
My name is Erica Abramson, and I am the proud Principal of Shadow Hills Elementary School. My educational journey began in Alpine, where I attended kindergarten through eighth grade. In fact, my parents still reside in the area. Following high school, I pursued a Bachelor's degree in English, obtaining an Education Specialist Credential and a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Finally, I completed my Administrative Services Credential. I began teaching Special Education at Shadow Hills in 2016. In 2020, I became the Dean of Students for Shadow Hills, in 2022, I took on the role as Dean of Special Education for AUSD and now, I am honored to take on my greatest role, Principal of the school that holds so many of my dear memories. I have 23 years of experience in educating and supporting children with special needs.
My dedication to Alpine runs deep. All three of my children were enrolled in Alpine Schools' Dual Immersion Program, and it's been a joy to witness their growth within it. My husband and I reside with our family in Crest, and we enjoy spending our extra time racing flat track, and going to the desert.
Two passions deeply ingrained in my heart are Special Education and Dual Immersion. Special Education resonates with me on a profound level, as it has been the cornerstone of my career. The Dual Immersion Program holds a very special place in my heart. I've been involved since its inception and witnessed its remarkable growth and success. Seeing students blossom into bilingual individuals has been incredibly fulfilling, knowing that it broadens their horizons and fosters a more inclusive society.
I am looking forward to the journey ahead and to seeing each of you this school year.
